Can’t read Crime and Punishment

I’m on the second chapter with the drunk bastard and is so hard to read. If I would find a character like that in real life I wouldn’t come close to him, it is repulsive, and why do I want to read about it/him? What is appealing about reading about repulsive people? Having said that, the book is obviously good as it makes me have strong emotions, but so it does a beheading video, I place them in the same repulsive category submitted by /u/Tasty-Ad-4996 [link] [comments]
